Why procrastinate! The time is now.

·

Why do we delay action? Put off for tomorrow what we could easily do today? Why do we make promises such as "Tomorrow, I shall or...."Someday, I...
All we have is today, in fact this moment. This moment only. This moment is replaced by another 'this moment'. There is no tomorrow. When you sleep tonight, tomorrow you will wake up to a fresh today. It is always like this, and it has always been like this. There is only the NOW, and is here now!
Here are a few gems I would like to share:

  •        What you can do tomorrow, do today. What you can do today, do now.
  • ·         Action is key to getting things done. A year from now, you would have wished you had started this a year ago!
  • ·         "'Begin at the beginning.' the King said, gravely, 'and go till you come to the end; then stop.'" -    Lewis Carroll (1832 - 1898) Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, 1865.
  • ·         A journey of a 1000 miles, begins with the first step.
  • ·          "Begin- to begin is half the work, let half still remain; again begin this, and thou wilt have finished." - Ausonius
  • ·         "The mathematics of high achievement can be stated by a simple formula. Begin with a dream. Divide the problems and conquer them one by one. Multiply the exciting possibilities in your mind. Subtract all negative thoughts to get started. Add enthusiasm. Your answer will be the attainment of your goal. " - Robert H. Schuller
So why do we then delay? We may fear the outcome – that it may mean a rejection, a failure. Face up to your fear. It may look too daunting- it may help to break it down. We may be lazy – give yourself a reward! It may not be motivating: re-frame it and re-purpose it. Huge distraction – isolate yourself. Not knowing how to – just fix the beginning and the end – the middle will fill itself in. I won’t be perfect – just practice and make a start.
For myself, I made a promise to acknowledge folks whenever I can. Sometimes I waited too long and then I found there were no longer there. Even if you fail to acknowledge, when you do remember, call up the person and acknowledge: it is never too late.

Remember, you will only pass this way, but once.
